Mayor Biggs Welcomes 'Hopper' Bus Tickets

Mayor of Tower Hamlets John Biggs has welcomed the news that one hour ‘Hopper’ bus fares are to launch on Monday 12th September

Mayor John Biggs said: “I’m delighted to hear that from next Monday the new ‘Hopper’ bus ticket will be launched. The ticket will hugely benefit residents in Tower Hamlets by enabling passengers to change bus for free within an hour and will cut costs for those who use multiple buses for their journeys. The East End’s crisscrossing bus routes often mean passengers have to change buses to get where they need to, its right they can do that without being forced to pay twice.

“Lower paid workers often rely on buses to get around and the Hopper ticket will go a long way to cut their travel costs – this is a very positive step from the Labour Mayor of London as part of his plans to make the capital more affordable.”
